This basic shape helps you organize your ideas. Draw it as seen at an angle, not just straight on. </div><div><br /></div><div>Design the top to be partway open or at an angle like the backpack is overstuffed; this gives it interest. Use rectangles to establish where the pockets, straps, and flaps will go. </div><div><br /></div><div>Consider making some things off-center, or at an angle on purpose, so it looks more worn out and uses. </div><div><br /></div><div>Erase the extra lines and go over the lines that you want to keep. </div><div><br /></div><div>The straps have buckles, and they can be tricky. Think of them as large rectangles or squares with missing pieces where the strap wraps over the buckle. </div><div><br /></div><div>To make the letters even on the sign, divide the sign into halves and quarters, then draw the letters in the four spaces. Write each letter, then go around it to give it volume. Shade the areas around the letters.</div><div><br /></div><div>Double the borderlines on the flap, pockets, and trim to give it the detail of a seam. </div><div>Add some items of interest like a drinking bottle or a map, or a book. Use double lines to draw a chord. Draw circles for buttons. Use a shield shape for a manufacture's emblem. </div><div><br /></div><div>Use shading technique to give it more of a weathered and used look. Take your time with the shading; it is easy to overdo it. Choose to shade alternate areas, so there are areas in between that are not shaded for contrast. </div><div><br /></div><div>I hope you draw a masterpiece!</div><div><br /></div><div>Β© A. E. Do not put the horizon line in the exact center it is boring and looks like you cut the picture in half. </div><div><br /></div><div>Even though the background scene is going to be part hidden by the grasses you still want to have a fully developed design. Draw this lightly so you can erase parts later when you add the grasses in the foreground.</div><div><br /></div><div>Use basic shapes like rectangles, triangles, squares, and half-circles to design the farm scene. </div><div><br /></div><div>Keep the farm scene interesting by placing one building behind another. Give the second building a different angle.</div><div><br /></div><div>Develop the background landscape by adding trees, or distant hills. When you draw one row of trees behind the other it gives the picture a sense of distance. </div><div><br /></div><div>Do not overdo the design, you just want to have a design so you can build upon it at a later stage. Besides if you do too much work on the background you may feel bad when you place the grasses on top and thereby hide all the work.</div><div><br /></div><div>Draw some guidelines to start the grasses with, have them bending in the wind. </div><div><br /></div><div>The grasses are like wheat and have seeds. The seeds are drawn like ovals pointing inward and downward. Use guidelines to keep them even on both sides of the stalks. They get smaller toward the top. After you draw the seeds, erase the extra lines and add shadows to give them shape. </div><div><br /></div><div>Add details to the background but do not overdraw the distant background. Add texture to the trees and light shadows to the trees. The shadows in the distance are lighter than the shadows near the front. </div><div><br /></div><div>The fields have grass. Draw the grass in random rows. The distant rows may be only horizontal lines. The rows become more detailed and darker as they progress to the foreground.</div><div><br /></div><div>Add details and shading to the farm. Use shading and light to keep the structures separate.</div><div><br /></div><div>Put some clouds in the sky because an empty sky looks incomplete. </div><div><br /></div><div>Happy Drawing!</div><div>(c) Adron 3/10/2021</div></div>Adron Dozathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16984901682089884141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1533038708723760556.post-86422294234463078002021-02-05T16:45:00.005-05:002022-02-05T23:19:20.011-05:00Free How to Draw the Watermill by the Pond Worksheet and Art Lesson<h2 style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">This is a free how-to-draw worksheet and art lesson for drawing a picture of a watermill.</span></h2><div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><h3 style="text-align: left;">WATERMILLS</h3><div>Watermills are a nostalgic thing of a past time. The river moves the wheel and causes the mill to turn inside the building. You do not see them very often except where they have been preserved as a historical site. Often the buildings are old and wooden and maybe a little rundown, so if your drawing has problems with straight lines or getting the perspective correct it is ok because it is telling the story of an old watermill.</div><div><br /></div><div><div><b style="background-color: #fce5cd;">SCROLL DOWN TO ACCESS THE FREE PDF.</b></div><div><b>THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION!</b></div></div><div><br /></div><div><div><b><span style="font-size: medium;">PRINTING</span></b></div><div>The image file below is a JPEG and should print on most devices without problems. It takes several drafts of a picture to get the ideas and composition right, so do not get discouraged if your picture does not turn out perfect on the first try, just tell yourself it is a rough draft that you can use for reference when you do the next and final drawing. </div><div><br /></div><div><h4 style="text-align: left;"><b><span style="font-size: medium;">PRINT THE WORKSHEET</span></b></h4><div>If you have trouble making the worksheet below print or are printing on A-4 sized paper then <a href="https://drawinglessonsfortheyoungartist.blogspot.com/p/how-to-print.html" target="_blank">CLICK HERE</a> to visit my how-to-print page for some suggestions. </div></div><div><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gu69D-XIo4A/YB26XxL9opI/AAAAAAAANZM/MmgIlXE2oPEX_np5fmQbdchjE6FHFWc6QCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/How%2Bto%2Bdraw%2Bthe%2Bwatermill%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bpond.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1583" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gu69D-XIo4A/YB26XxL9opI/AAAAAAAANZM/MmgIlXE2oPEX_np5fmQbdchjE6FHFWc6QCLcBGAsYHQ/w494-h640/How%2Bto%2Bdraw%2Bthe%2Bwatermill%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bpond.jpg" width="494" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Free How to Draw the Watermill by the Pond Worksheet and Art Lesson</span></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div>You are welcome to print as many of my worksheets as you like. Just draw it like a wavey line at first, you will come back to it later. </div><div><br /></div><div>Use basic shapes to outline the watermill. If you have problems drawing the wheel use the lid from a jar and trace around it. (it is not cheating it is using a tool).</div><div><br /></div><div>Use more basic shapes to add details like windows. </div><div><br /></div><div>Outline rows of trees in the background. Give them some interest and random shapes so they do not look like rows of broccoli.</div><div><br /></div><div>Outline the shrubbery around the pond They are half circles one behind the other. Outline the fence in the foreground. It is basically a bunch of long rectangles but make them crooked so it looks old. Our fence is not solid but has an opening so the viewer won't feel there is something keeping them out of the picture.</div><div><br /></div><div>What makes this an interesting picture is all the different textures. As you are adding the details keep focusing on the textures. </div><div><br /></div><div>The roof has rows of shingles. Draw some light guidelines across so they stay even. Draw the singles at the same angle as the angle of the roof. Do not draw every single one, Make them random and interesting. </div><div><br /></div><div>The sides of the buildings have wood planks but the planks on the one building are verticle and on the other horizontal. Draw guidelines first and then go back and give them a rough look. There is a stone foundation that has a texture of lots of short lines at right angles.</div><div> </div><div>Add the texture of the leaves. The shrubs in the foreground have larger leaves shown as dashes or fat squiggles, in the middle ground as thinner dashes, and in the distance as dots. The leaves around the fence are shaped like the letter "V." Some leaves point one way and some another.</div><div><br /></div><div>Take your time as you give the leafy textures and the wood a rough look. </div><div><br /></div><div>The far trees are lighter use smaller textures and lighter touches. The trees close by are darker so use a darker texture and a heavier touch. </div><div><br /></div><div>Use only a few wavey lines for the water. Don't overdo the water so it stays shiny.</div><div>Add shadows, but do not overdo it. Keep the shadows all on one side since the sun is on the other. </div><div><br /></div><div>Happy sketching!</div><div>(c) Adron 2/5/21</div><div><div><br /></div></div></div><form action="https://www.paypal.com/donate" method="post" target="_top">

It will determine the viewer's relation to the features of the picture. Do not put the horizon in the middle of the page, it will divide the picture in half and that is boring. Place the horizon about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. Use a ruler or other straight edge to keep it straight and level. </div><div><br /></div><div>Use basic shapes to develop the house. The near corner is slightly higher than the far edges. </div><div>Most lighthouses are cylinder-shaped, but this one is square so use a line to show the corner. It is slightly wider at the base. </div><div><br /></div><div>There is more than one technique to work out the design for the rocks of the pier that the house is built on. For this picture use the SCRIBBLE TECHNIQUE but don't over-do it. Lightly scribble randomly to get the basic texture and shape of the rocks. You will come back to them and give them more work later. Use the SCRIBBLE TECHNIQUE to design the land across the bay. </div><div><br /></div><div>Once you have laid out the design of the house the way you like it erase any extra lines and go over the lines that you want to keep. </div><div><br /></div><div>Go over the random scribbles of the rocks and decide on what you like and go over those parts you like. Erase anything that you don't like. It should look random but interesting. This is going to create a contrasting texture to other elements of the picture. </div><div><br /></div><div>Use basic shapes to add details like windows and doors. </div><div><br /></div><div>Use shading carefully at first. Make sure the roof is darker than the shadows of the sides but not black. </div><div>The shading on the rocks should be darker than the shading on the house. </div><div><br /></div><div>The bay has peaceful waters so use long lines going back and forth horizontally to show the gentle rolling waves. The lines are thicker and darker in the foreground and thinner, shorter and lighter in the distance. There should be darker waters at the edge of the rocks.</div><div><br /></div><div>Make the land across the bay as a silhouette but not too dark.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The sky should have clouds or the picture will look unfinished. Use a rectangle for the candle part. Use ovals for the base and holder parts.<br />Make the top like a triangle that angles down.<br /><br />Use two or three teardrop shapes around the top for the drips of melted wax. <br /><br />Design the holly leaves around the base by drawing each leaf with two lines that bend out and then touch at the tips, this helps them to look even. Give them all a direction as they go around the base. <br />Use some circles for the holly berries. Draw the holly berries in two or three clusters. use simple circles but have one behind the others for interest. <br /><br />The holly leaves have a line down the center but it is not a straight line, it is slightly curved.<br /><br />Draw the wick like an upside-down letter 'J.' Use a teardrop shape for the flame. Give the teardrop shape a little "S" shaped wave for interest.<br /><br />Go around the holly leaves and give the edges a multi-scalloped shape by drawing curving lines that meet each other at the ends to make points. <br /><br />Erase and clean up the extra lines.<br /><br />Use a line to show the back edge of the table it is sitting on. The tabletop will be white so the holly leaves will have the background to stand out against. Use shading on the area above to give the candle a contrasting background. <br /><br />Use shading technique to give it a three-dimensional appearance. Be careful when you add shading to the candle because it is supposed to be white or a light hue so it is easy to over-do it. There will be some shadow under the drips. Put a little shadow on both sides and keep the middle light. The shadow on the side should be gradual from lighter near the center to the darkest near the edge. Spend most of your shading effort on the holy leaves they are dark by contrast. There will be shadows under the leaves or the bottom. There will be shadows around the berries. The darkest shadow will be under the edge at the bottom of the holly leaves. <br /><br />Sign your picture about an inch from the bottom so there is room for a frame. <br /><br />I hope you make a masterpiece! <br /><br />Β© Adron 12/28/2020<br /><br /></form></div></div>Adron Dozathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16984901682089884141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1533038708723760556.post-7353632977959422592020-12-04T15:45:00.011-05:002022-01-10T14:51:11.254-05:00How to Draw A Picture of a Christmas Wreath, Printable Worksheet and LessonBelow is a printable worksheet for how to draw a Christmas wreath.<div><br /></div><div>I felt that this is an exciting project for the holiday season or it can be a part of any memorial illustration.</div><div><br /></div><div><b style="background-color: #fce5cd;">SCROLL DOWN TO ACCESS THE FREE PDF.</b></div><div><b>THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION!</b> </div><div><br /></div><div>The wreath in Christmas is a reminder of the crown of thorns that Christ wore when he was crucified for mankind's sins. Draw two circles so it looks like a fat donut. You can use the lids of a couple of jars and trace them for the circle. You are not cheeting if you use a jar lid to make the circle, every professional artist uses tools and the jar lid is as good as any.</div><div><br /></div><div>Use basic shapes for the ribbon. YOU MAY PRINT THE PROJECT NOTES BELOW.</span></h3>
<br />
BEGINNINGS<br />
Start with a tall oval for the body, and below the oval, draw a wide circle for the head. Add two ovals for the paws on both sides of the head.<br />
<br />
FACE<br />
Use guidelines across the center of the face and down the center of the face to keep things even. Draw them lightly since you will want to erase them later.<br />
* Add the ears on the top of the head.<br />
* The eyes are below the guideline that is going across the face.<br />
* The eyes are almond-shaped; there is a curved line on the top and a curved line on the bottom.<br />
* The nose is a little below the eyes and on the center guideline; the nose is a triangle pointing down.<br />
* The eyes are looking sideways, so draw the iris on the left half to appear as if he is looking left.<br />
* The pupils are lines going up and down, and they are low in the iris, so he looks like he is watching the toy mouse.<br />
* His mouth is shaped like a rounded "W," and a line connects the nose and the mouth.<br />
<br />
BODY<br />
* The paws have three curves underneath with lines for the claws.<br />
* There are elbows on the side of the face; they are a bent line.<br />
* The rear legs are a curving line that follows the bend of the body.<br />
* There is a circle for the rear paws.<br />
* The tail is made of two parallel lines; it can be straight up or curve like an "S" or a "?" shape.<br />
<br />
MOUSE<br />
The toy mouse gives the picture a story.<br />
* The mouse is a half circle for the body and a straight line below.<br />
* There are circles for the ears and a curving line for the tail.<br />
* Draw circles for the wheels.<br />
* Draw two circles like a figure * for the wind-up key<span style="color: red;">.</span></div>

They inhabit shores all over the world. Sometimes they are alone, and sometimes they are in a flock. There is something beautiful in how they seem to drift in the sky as they search for food. They are bold, too, and will come close enough to a person to snatch their food. So it seemed that sooner or later, I had to create a how-to-draw worksheet for the noble seagull. </div><div><br /></div><div>If you have problems downloading the image below, click on the HOW TO PRINT tab, I have listed some common issues and possible solutions you can try. This picture was inspired by something I saw when walking my dog. There was a
fence beside the path we were on and some flowers were growing through the
cross pieces of the fence. I took a picture of it with my cellphone and later
did some art inspired by the scene. It is a simple and easy project but can be
very nice when it is finished.

<span style="font-size: medium;">PRINTABLE NOTES</span>
</h4>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
During the beginning stages draw lightly so you can make erasures and
corrections later on.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
The fence starts out as a series of long rectangles. Two are verticle and four
are horizontal, they do not need to be perfect.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Do not draw the fence perfect, give it some crooked and bent parts like
something that has been outside for a long time might look.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Use circles and half-circles to place where the flowers will be in the
picture. Some of the flowers are facing out to you and some are facing up, the
ones facing up look like half circles. Draw small circles for the center. Put
some flowers in front of others.
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>
Draw the petals from the center to the outer circle. Use two lines, one for
each side. Use a guideline to keep the petals going straight. then erase the
extra lines.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
The leaves in the shrubbery below the flowers are like the letter "V" but
rounded.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>Use short choppy lines to give the wood a rough texture.</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Use the shading technique to give the picture depth. The far trees are a light
gray, the distant shrubbery are a darker gray. The darkest areas should be the
closest like the side of the post and the underside of the cross pieces. Shade
around the leaves and the flowers but leave the flowers and leaves white so
they stand out.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Sign and date your work about an inch from the bottom so there is room for a
mat and frame.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>I hope this picture turns out beautifully for you. </div>

Draw lightly at first so that you can erase and clean it up later.
</div>
Start by gathering your reference materials like favorite pictures of tulips
from cards, magazines, or calendars. I used some photos that I took at a fruit
stand beside the road in Pennsylvania USA.
<div>Use the pictures for ideas and design. </div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
<div>
The bushel is in front of a box. The Box is drawn with parallel lines that
form a Parrallegram on the top and sides. But do not worry if it is not
perfect it is supposed to look old and worn.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
The bushel is two horizontal ovals and vertical lines that connect the top
and bottom ovals. Use a guideline to keep both sides level or else one
side will be higher than the other.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Draw an apple on top of the box, just make it a circle at first. You will
come back and finish it later.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Draw two or three bushes in front and one on the side, it gives the picture
interest.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Use circles to compose the apples, remember to draw them lightly at first.
place them randomly and not too orderly. Do not make them look like a
pyramid or too tall, just a few on top of others. Start them as circles.
Have some in from of others. Once they are in the right places erase the
bottom of the circles if you need to.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Add details to build up the realism. Draw lines that show the thickness of
the edge of the box. Draw a second line around the edge of the bushel to
show its thickness Draw vertical lines for the parts of the bushels.
Draw two lines for the top edges of the bushels, and for the band that wraps
it.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Draw verticle lines to indicate the wall behind, draw horizontal lines to
give the look of the wood floor.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>Erase the extra lines. </div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Determine which side the light is coming in from. Add shadows on the
opposite side of the light. So if the light is from the right the shadow
will be on the left. Put shadows inside the box and behind the
bushels. Take your time with the shadows since they give it depth and
roundness.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>
Use choppy lines to give the wood wall and floor texture and
character.
</div>
<div><br /></div>
<div>I hope your drawing is a masterpiece!</div>

Here is a fun and easy drawing lesson that will help the beginner in drawing
tulip flowers. It is not a hard project and is good practice. I tried
to make the lesson interesting and took a few risks with the composition.
The flowers are not in a neat tidy row, and they are intentionally a little
ragged as if they were past their bloom; after all, that is real life, and a

<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">BEGINING</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
Start by gathering your reference materials, like favorite pictures of tulips
from cards, magazines, or calendars. Use the pictures for ideas and
design.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
In my illustration, I have some tulips taller than others, some are in front, and some are behind. It all makes it look interesting. You may want to do some
rough sketches first to get your ideas right.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
Lightly sketch your design. Keep it loose, rough, and quick. Just some
circles for the flowers and lines for the stems and leaves. Keep it light so
you can erase parts later.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">DEVELOPING FROM</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
After you have the basic design the way you like it then go over the best
lines and erase the ones you do not want.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">FLOWERS</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
The tulip flower looks like a bowl or cup. In our illustration, we are looking
down into the flower at an angle. Draw a curved guide-line across the circle
that you drew for the flower. The guideline is the edge fo the nearer leaves
of the flower's cup shape.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
Divide the cup shape into petals by drawing two or three lines down from the
guideline and from the back edge of the circle.
</div>

The edges of the flower is a little jagged so draw sawtooth-like lines on the
edge of the guide-line and the top circle line.

<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">SHADING</div>
<div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
Shading may be the most important part of the picture. Shadow is determined by
the direction of the light source. If the light is coming from the left the
shadow will be on the right. I suggest that you do all the shadow at once at

<br />
BEGINNING<br />
Start out by drawing lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
Keep it simple at the beginning.<br />Use a basic stick figure to work out
the pose.<br />
Use a guideline across the shoulders to keep them level. Use a guideline
across the waist to keep the elbows on the level. <br />
<br />
DEVELOPING<br />
After you have the pose the way you want it, then draw around the stick
figure to give the body its shape and then draw the clothes over that.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
The head is an oval. Do not draw the hat until you get the features in the
right place. Use three guidelines to help place the eyes, nose, and mouth.
The first guideline is halfway across. The second is halfway down from the
first, the third is halfway down from the second. <br /><br />Draw
the hat through the top of the head, not above it. <br /><br />
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
DETAILS<br />
Keep the hands simple. Draw around the stick figure fingers. They are gloves, so they can be fat and shapeless mittens.<br />
<br />FACE
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Go over the oval shape of the face to give sharpness to the jaw and cheeks.
Keep the face simple. The nose is like a letter "V," The mouth is a few
lines. The eyes are two arches with dark half-circles for the pupil. Make
the hat uneven like it is old and beaten up; this will give the drawing
character. <br />
<br />Erase the extra lines and rework the lines you like. It may be a good
idea to trace the design onto another paper to finish the project. Many
artists do this, sometimes two or more times on a project.
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br />FINISH</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Color or shade the line drawing after you finish. When you color or shade in
the picture, look for areas that you can leave white for contrast. Be careful
to have some very dark areas and some very light areas, and some medium-dark
areas.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">I hope you create a masterpiece!</div>

BEGINNING<br />
Start out by drawing lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
Keep it simple at the beginning.<br />
It is ok to use tracing paper and trace it over a few times until you have it right.<br />
Use a basic stick figure to work out the pose.<br />
This project has two figures one is carrying another. You may have to practice and draw them separately at first then combine them into one composition.<br />
<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING<br />
After you have the pose the way you want it then draw around the stick figure to give the body its shape and then draw the clothes over.<br />
<br />
DETAILS<br />
Keep the hands simple, think of drawing them like mittens. Remember, thumbs point inward on hands facing down and thumbs point outward on hands pointing up.<br />
<br />
Keep the face simple, the nose and eyebrow form a letter "S" Use a short line for the upper lip and a shorter line for the lower lip. The eyes are two slightly curving lines since the wounded man is not awake and the hero is watching his step.<br />
<br />
Color or shade the line drawing after you finish.<br />
<br />
Do not forget to put in the background like a battle scene or a dead monster. Draw the ground around the hero's feet so he doesn't look like he is floating.</div>

BEGINNING<br />
Start out by drawing lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
Use basic shapes to work out the design. The finger is like a long rectangle.<br />
The wrist is like a long rectangle.<br />
The fingers are grouped into a triangle.<br />
The palm is almost a square.<br />
The pointing finger is as long as the palm, but part of the palm is hidden by the other fingers, so it looks shorter than it really is.<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING<br />
Use two lines to define the fingers.<br />
After the basic form is developed, draw around them to get the rough beginnings of the hand.<br />
Erase the extra lines and begin to add detail.<br />
Add roundness to the fingertips.<br />
<br />
Add details like wrinkles at the joints and fingernails.<br />
<br />
SHADING<br />
Put shadows around the palm fingers and under the thumb. Add shadows under the wrist and forearm.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">I hope you create a masterpiece!</div>

<br />
BEGINNING<br />
Start out by drawing lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
Use basic shapes to work out the design. The largest shape will be a teardrop shape, but it is sideways. Draw long ovals for the front flipper and ovals for the head and rear feet. It does not need to be perfect.<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING<br />
The front flipper has a curve like a knee going front that makes it look like a backward number "7." The flipper is not straight but has curves going back and forth on the front edge and on the back edge.<br />
<br />
Draw the top of the shell in the shape of a long narrow oval with a point at the back.<br />
<br />
The top shell, head, and flipper have a pattern of scales. Lightly draw a grid of lines that make box shapes on the flipper and on the shell, but don't make it perfect; let some be different sizes and irregular shapes. draw around the inside of the shapes of the grid, so it looks like boxes inside a net. Erase the grid leaving spaces between the boxes (remember I said to draw it lightly so you can erase). The bottom of the shell has simple lines like for the scales and is plainer than the top.<br />
Erase all the extra lines and go over the lines you want to keep.<br />
<br />
SHADING<br />
Put shadows underneath the turtle. Use shading to make the far flipper look darker; use shading under the neck and chin. The top of the shell is much darker than the bottom but be careful that you do not lose the pattern.<br />
<br />
Draw wavey lines for the water effect.<br /><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">(c) Adron 8/21/19</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div></div>

<br />
BEGINNING<br />
Start out by drawing lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
Use the basic shape of a triangle to start, it does not need to be perfect. Add an arch like a rainbow over the large triangle. Make the arch lopsided so it is higher at the top of the triangle than at the bottom. Draw a small triangle centered on the back end of the large triangle.<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING<br />
Draw several curves going inward on the arch for the wrinkled edges. Draw three or four guidelines on the small triangle to help keep the spurs even and in line. Across the guidelines draw bumps for the spurs of the shell. Draw the two larger spurs on the bottom like lopsided letter "V" pointing down and back. The bottom edge curves upward a little and is wavey.<br />
<br />
CLEAN UP THE PICTURE<br />
Erase all the extra lines and go over the lines you want to keep.<br />
<br />
SHADING<br />
Put a shadow underneath the conch shell. Put shadows on the edges to give the shell roundness. Use shadow to define the wrinkles.<br />
Use shading to show the long folds in the sides.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">(c) Adron 7/7/19</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">My worksheets are free and you may print as many as you like. <br />
BEGINNING<br />
First, determine the horizon. In this case, it is the hills in the background. The horizon should be high on the picture but leave room for the clouds.<br />
Draw lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
Use simple lines to sketch a few hills, the far river banks, and the curved road. Keep in mind you are creating a background, middle ground, and foreground.<br />
Use basic shapes to design the covered bridge. Use a rectangle for the side, and front a triangle for the front top a parallelogram for the roof. You are only doing the design at this point. You will do the details later. It is ok to use a ruler or straight edge to draw the bridge; all good craftsmen know when to use tools. The straight lines of the bridge will give an interesting contrast to the picture<br />
Do not put the covered bridge in the center. That is boring; put it between the center and the edge of the picture that makes it interesting.<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING<br />
The clouds are the big summer ones that go up high from the horizon. Start by lightly drawing the fluffy humps of the cloud, then draw the bottoms going across. Draw one cloud behind the other, it will make them huge.<br />
<br />
Add detail to the bridge by drawing the post that holds up the roof use three verticle lines. Next, draw lines from the top of one to the bottom of the next. Draw around the lines to make them thicker like huge beams. Draw one verticle line and two slanted lines for what is showing through the entrance of the bridge.<br />
<br />
Use a lot of long lines back and forth for the water.<br />
Very gently add shadow to the clouds.<br />
<br />
This next part takes a lot of time to do well, so do not rush it. Add texture to the trees and bushes by drawing lots of tiny rounded "M" and "N" shapes. Add texture to the bridge by drawing lines for the wood. Use dashes across and more at an angle for the shingles for the roof.<br />
Add rocks to the water and the road.<br />
Give the river bank texture by drawing choppy lines down at an angle.<br />
Use shadow inside the bridge and under it.<br />
<br />
Use erasers to clean up your picture.</div>
I hope this is a fun challenge for you and that it turns out well. Would you be willing to support this blog with a little donation through the Paypal button? Thanks!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br />

<br />
BEGINNING<br />
First, draw a straight line across for the ground that way all four feet touch the ground in the same way.<br />
<br />
Draw lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
<br />
Use basic shapes like a rectangle and a triangle to develop the form of the moose body and neck. The legs are like long thin triangles.<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING THE FORM<br />
Round the body at the rear and at the shoulder and under the neck. Give the back legs curves going back.<br />
The face starts out like a down-pointing wedge that is cut off at the bottom. Use a line going up and down to help center the face. there is a bony ridge that looks like narrow parenthesis marks.<br />
<br />
The antlers are different on every moose so don't worry about making them perfect. Use a line going straight across for the bottom edge of the antlers. and more basic shapes to work out their design.<br />
The ears are two pointed ovals at the top of the head.<br />
<br />
Use erasers to clean up your picture.<br />
<br />
Add shadows to give the moose a round shape.<br />
<br />
Add grass in the shadow underneath, this will hide any problems with the hoofs.<br /><br />I hope you have fun drawing it. I also hope you use the donation button to support this blog. Thank you. </form></div>

<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: #fce5cd; font-size: medium;">YOU MAY PRINT THE ART PROJECT NOTES BELOW.</span></h3>
<br />
BEGINNING<br />
First, draw a straight line across for the horizon, DO NOT DRAW IT HALFWAY DOWN- that is just too boring.<br />
<br />
Draw lightly at first so you can erase later.<br />
<br />
The hull or body of the ship is like a letter "U." Draw it over the line for the horizon so the horizon line goes through it, you can erase later.<br />
<br />
The ship is coming toward you, so you see the point of the front. Draw it like a triangle with a point going up and a little to the side.<br />
<br />
Draw a line in a curve for the very front of the ship. It is a little to one side but curves away to the other, this line helps give a feeling of the direction the ship is going.<br />
<br />
The cabin is like a rectangle. Draw it lightly at first so you can erase the part that is not showing. The cabin is slightly at a side so draw a line to show the corner of the front and the side.<br />
<br />
There is a mast that goes out from the front. Draw it as a straight line but it is a line that is a part of the top edge of the side of the ship.<br />
<br />
SAILS<br />
The big sails are on two masts, draw them lightly at first because the sail is in front of them and you will only see the tops, but draw them so you can get everything straight erase them later. There is a cross beam across the top so it all looks like a letter "t."<br />
<br />
Before you do the beautiful shapes of the sails, use squares to get them where you want them to be. This drawing has two square sails, one in front of the other. Use squares to work out the design. The sail in the back is lower, so the bottom and side are all that shows.<br />
There are two triangle sails on the very front.<br />
<br />
The pendants on top of the mast are two lines shaped like a long skinny letter "Z," that connect at a point. The two lines are connected by a backward letter "C" where they touch the top of the mast.<br />
<br />
SPLASH AND CLOUDS<br />
Use circles to design how you want the splash at the front to look. Just work out your ideas then later make it look like a splash with shading and bubbles.<br />
<br />
Use circles to design how you want the clouds to look. The far clouds over the horizon are smaller than the ones up top, (overhead).<br />
<br />
Go over all the sails with lines that curve to show that the wind is pushing them out. Erase any part of the mast that is behind and unseen.<br />
<br />
SHADING<br />
The sun is behind, so the front of the ship is in shadow. Shade the front of the ship and the cabin. Use shading on the bottom of the splash and keep the top clean. Use little circles for bubbles if you like.. Do not shade all the sides leave the outside edges light for contrast.<br />
<br />
Clean up the clouds and keep them simple, just use the best lines from the circles you drew before and erase the rest.<br />
<br />
THE SEA<br />
The sea is darker in the foreground, use long thick lines going back and forth to give it movement and darkness. The sea is lighter far away, use short thin lines with a lot of white areas between them to give the feeling of distance.<br />
<br />
Oops! I forgot the seagulls, but you can take care of that!<br /><br />I am thankful that you are visiting my blog and trying my worksheets, and if you use the Paypal button to give a gift to keep this blog going I am thankful for that too.</form></div>

<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: #fce5cd;">PRINTABLE ART LESSON NOTES.</span></h3>
<br />
BEGINNINGS<br />
Start by drawing lightly so you can erase later.<br />
Draw a line straight across the bottom for where the ground, this helps keep the legs right. The tank can be a rectangle or square. Just lightly sketch the basic shape in to get started. Use a guideline down the middle to keep thing even, draw it lightly so you can erase later. Use some lines from the tank to the ground to keep things straight, draw them lightly so you can erase later. Use some lines to make the mountains in the background, draw them lightly you will want to come back to the background later.<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING THE FORM<br />
The barrel of the tank is a cylinder viewed from below. Using the cross lines of the square draw a curved line across the top. If the curved line is slight the tower looks lower to the ground if the curved line is very deep it looks like you are nearer to it.<br />
The top curve has the same degree as the bottom curve line. You will have two up curves and one down curve for the far bottom or back edge.<br />
The legs of the tower are slightly outward tilted for support and have cross supports just draw lines to get the arrangements right. Put one line off-center for interest and to give room for the center pipe.<br />
<br />
Draw two lines for the ladder, remember they have a slight bend where the tank ends and the outward bending legs begin. Mark off where the cross steps will be so you can keep them even. Use parallel lines to give the ladder substance.<br />
<br />
The top of the tank has a roof, draw it like a triangle.<br />
<br />
Go around the lines of the legs and the cross supports with additional lines to give them thickness. Then erase the original lines. Draw a third line to keep the planks and beams from looking two-dimensional.<br />
<br />
Use marks to plan where the planks are spaced on the round sides of the tank. The planks are wider in the center and closer together as they near the edges, this is perspective. Draw the planks as lines going from the top to the bottom.<br />
<br />
Add a figure like a cow or horse or farm worker to give the viewer a sense of size.<br />
<br />
The background will give the picture a sense of place. Draw bushes trees hills and mountains. Add grasses and rocks in the foreground. Add a shadow under the tank.<br />
<br />I hope you draw a masterpiece</ul><ul style="text-align: left;">Β© Adron 8/29/18</ul><ul style="text-align: left;"><br /></ul><ul style="text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><form action="https://www.paypal.com/donate" method="post" target="_top">

<h3 style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: #fce5cd;">PRINTABLE NOTES</span>.</span></h3>
<br />
BEGINNINGS<br />
Start by drawing lightly so you can erase it later. Begin by drawing a stick figure just to get the pose and size right. The head is tilted back since she is looking up at the flower umbrella. Make the head like an oval for now.<br />
Use three guidelines to help draw the face. One for the eyes halfway across the head. The nose is halfway from the eyes to the chin, The mouth is halfway from the nose to the chin.<br />
Draw a horizontal line to show where the leaf is floating on the water.<br />
<br />
OUTLINE THE WINGS.<br />
Outline the wings. The wings have two shapes. The top wing is like a triangle with a bent edge. The bottom wing is like a long letter "U."<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING THE FIGURE<br />
Draw around the stick figure to make the body shape. The legs and arms are thin. The knees are a few straight lines. The hand is at an angle and almost square.<br />
<br />
CLOTHING<br />
The clothing could be made out of silk so it has flowing lines. Draw the clothing around the figure, then erase the stick figure lines. The sleeve hangs down and curves back. The legs are covered by a skirt, the lines follow the legs on the left side and drape backward on the right side since it is floating in the water.<br />
<br />
FACE<br />
Keep the face simple. The forehead dips in at the eyes. The nose is like a triangle. The top lip is like a backward-facing letter "J" laying down. The bottom lip is like the letter "C". Draw the hair with long sweeping lines going over the wings.<br />
<br />
DETAIL THE WINGS<br />
Use ovals and circles to add detail to the wings. The circles can go around the edge. Draw the back edge of the wings with a back and forth pattern. Remember to leave the hair.<br />
<br />
THE LEAF<br />
The leaf is a straight line at the bottom where it floats in the water and the sides are just some curved lines that meet at points pointing up. The back of the leaf has the stem going up like the back of a chair for her to rest against.<br />
<br />
Use curved lines for the ripples in the water.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br />
Add shading.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">(c) Adron D. 2/10/18</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Please consider making a small contribution to keep this blog going.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /> <form action="https://www.paypal.com/donate" method="post" target="_top">

<br />
<span style="background-color: #fce5cd; font-size: medium;">YOU MAY PRINT THE PROJECT NOTES BELOW.</span><br />
<br />
BEGINNING<br />
Use a few lines to draw a very simple landscape. Here we are drawing meadows and a hill for the village. The hills in the distance are closer together and the hills in the foreground are farther apart.<br />
Be sure to have one big hill for the village.<br />
Make the road that leads to the village with a few zigzags or curves- a straight road is boring.<br />
<br />
Old villages had a stone wall around them like a fort for protection. Use a few lines to draw the village wall like a rectangle coming up from the lower hills. Add towers to the village walls.<br />
<br />
HOUSES<br />
Some houses are outside the wall but be careful to make sure they are smaller than the wall and be sure to leave the wall showing above those houses.<br />
<br />
Use straight lines to make squares and rectangles and parallelograms to create houses. Draw the houses from the corner and not the full side view it is more interesting.<br />
<br />
The houses closest to you are the lowest ones. Start with the lowest houses first like an uneven row. Then draw the next row above so they are behind the second row. The higher up the hill the less of the side of the houses you see and more of the roofs are visible. Keep adding more rows until you cover the hill. Have some houses facing one way and some facing another.<br />
<br />
Develop the landscape with trees and bushes on the ridges of the hills. Use bushes or stone walls or fences beside the road that leads to the village. The bushes in the foreground will be darker and with more detail. The bushes in the distance will be lighter and drawn simply.<br />
<br />
Add towers to the village walls.<br />
<br />
When you think you have put in all the houses you can then look at it again and see if you can put in some more. This is hard work and takes patience but it will look good if you do.<br />
<br />
Use dots and dashes to make rows for the crops in the fields. Make the rows go in different directions from one field to the next.<br /><br />(c) Adron D. 2/4/18</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><form action="https://www.paypal.com/donate" method="post" target="_top">

<br />
Draw lightly at first so you can erase later on.<br />
Do not worry if you can't draw straight lines this is an old beaten-up wheelbarrow so straight lines do not matter.<br />
<br />
BEGINNING<br />
Draw a line for the ground so that the wheel and the back legs are on the same level.<br />
Draw a simple circle for the wheel. From the center of the wheel to the back draw two lines like a sideways V for the handles.<br />
<br />
On top of the sideways, V for the handles, draw the box for the wheelbarrow. It is like two rectangles, a long one going back from the wheel to the handles and a smaller one for the front.<br />
The back end curves downward to the handles.<br />
<br />
DETAIL<br />
Draw the lines for the sideboards.<br />
The back of the handles are rounded and turned downward.<br />
There are two legs at the back for it to stand on, draw them as straight lines going down to the line for the ground but they do not need to go straight.<br />
<br />
THE FUN STUFF<br />
Draw circles to design where you want the flowers to be.<br />
Use circles inside circles for the centers and draw the petals between the circles.<br />
Don't make them all the same size, make some big some medium and some small.<br />
Make some to have four petals and some to have many petals.<br />
Give some big centers and some smaller centers.<br />
<br />
Fill the spaces in between the flowers with leaves.<br />
Make some leaves big and some small.<br />
Add grass to the ground below it and a few more flowers.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
YOU MAY PRINT THE PROJECT NOTES BELOW.</div>
OVERVIEW<br />
Do not get upset if horses or chariots or solder are imperfect; when animals and men charge into battle, things lose their shape since muscles are tense, and action changes the perspective a little.<br />
<br />
BEGINNINGS<br />
Start by drawing lightly at first so you can erase it later.<br />
<br />
Use a guideline to keep the wheel and horse's hooves on level with the ground.<br />
<br />
Develop the composition with a stick figure to pose the solder and basic shapes to form the chariot and horses. Use basic shapes like rectangles, circles, and squares to design the horses.<br />
<br />
Keep things loose at this point.<br />
<br />
Use a triangle for the chariot and circles for the wheel. (You can trace around a coin for a perfect circle.)<br />
<br />
DEVELOPING FORM<br />
Draw around the stick figures to give them fullness. Rember the muscles in the arm. Don't try to draw the armor until after the body is right.<br />
<br />
Give the horses curves on the body.<br />
<br />
DETAILS<br />
After developing the design, add the details like armor, bridle, a lion's face on the chariot, and weapons.<br />
<br />
Use a ruler for the straight lines.<br />
<br />
Draw circles for the inside of the wheel and the hub. Draw guidelines all the way through the hub for the spokes, so they are evenly spaced.<br />
<br />
Keep the face and hands simple.<br />
<br />
ENVIRONMENT<br />
Add an environment, like the countryside, battle scene, or arena.<br />
<br />
SHADING<br />
Use shading technique to give the scene roundness. Put a shadow below the chariot and horses.<br />
<br />I hope you create a masterpiece!</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br />
