CAT BODY
The Sphinx is a cat with a human head. Since it is a fantasy creature you can change things to fit your own ideas.

The basic sitting cat shape starts as two large circles connected by two lines, one for the back and one for the chest. The head starts out as a circle, it is a little forward. The forearms are longer than a normal cat's legs and start out as rectangles. Use a guideline to keep the bottom even.

After you have the basic shape worked out then add the roundness of the muscles.

The back hip juts upward a little.

The tail wraps up in front of the back leg: it is two sweeping lines that taper closer together to end at the bushy bit of fur.

FACE
The face is a person. Use guidelines to keep the face balanced, one up and down the middle to place the ear, one halfway from the top of the head to the chin for the eyes, one halfway from the eyes for the nose and one halfway from the nose to the chin for the mouth.  The nose is straight.

HEADDRESS
The headdress has a front and a back. There is a line down the middle to the shoulder for the edge between the front and the back. Don't give it too many stripes or it will look messy, 16 at the most- eight on the top head to the shoulder and eight on the chest covering.

DETAILS
The paws have three toes showing, draw them as straight lines.
