THE BASIC BODY SHAPE
Start with a pencil and draw lightly so you can erase later. Draw the basic body like a teardrop sideways, the head is wider and the tail end is narrow and almost comes to a point.

FINS
On the beta, the fins can go any way you want. Start with a long sweeping curved line to make a half-circle for the tail. Draw sweeping curved lines on the top and the bottom of the body for the front and back of the two big fins. The edges of these fins have zig-zag line shapes.

DETAILS
There is a small fin on the side, draw it with a curved line for the outside edge and two curving lines on the top and bottom going forward like a slight triangle but not touching.
The gill is a curved line.
There is a jaw bone below the eye it is a curved line.
The eye is two circles one inside the other. Fill in the inside circle but leave a little white spot somewhere.
The moth looks like a frown.
The nose curves upward slightly

SCALES.
Lightly draw five to seven guidelines from the head to the tail for the scales, this will keep them in even rows. After you have the guideline draw the scales in even rows from the top to the bottom, each scale is a half-circle.

DETAIL THE FINS
The fins have thin bony ridges. Where the fin meets the body carefully mark off even spaces for the ridges before your draw them this keeps them even. After marking them off then slowly and carefully draw the ribs following the curve of the fins.

PROJECT NOTES

There are many types of deer. This is a very basic drawing that you can adapt as you need.

BEGIN
Draw a rough outline lightly in pencil first. The head is like a teardrop upside down, narrow a the bottom and wider at the top. Use guidelines up and down and across the center to help keep things even.

The ears are at the top of the head in front of the antlers. They look like big spoons slightly diamond-shaped.

THE ANTLERS
The antlers go out and up. The first line is the bottom of each side, it goes out and up and ends in two points like a letter "Y." The other three points are in a row. Two are right at the top of the head. The others are near the end, draw them behind the "Y" point.

THE FACE
The eyes are a little higher than halfway from the bottom. They start as two rainbow shapes pointing outward, then two rainbow shapes pointing downward. The eyeball is a bent line going outward and back in, It looks like a fancy teardrop pointing inward.

The nose is flat on the top and has a black shape like an hourglass in the middle and a black square outline.

The mouth is a straight line with a little downward turn at the very ends.

The four points away from the center. There is white around the eyes, inside the ears, around the nose, and across the brow.

PRINTABLE INSTRUCTIONS

Start with a light outline.

HEAD
The head looks like a triangle with a second triangle behind it for the gaping mouth. Round off the corners. The view is turned a little so you only need to draw one eye. Draw the large tooth before you draw the other teeth so it fits.

NECK
The neck starts behind the head. It is two lines that curve, one line comes off the top of the head the other is from under the jaw. The neck is more narrow at the head and wider at the body.

BODY
The body is a hump; draw it like an arch.  It is behind the neck.  Behind the body is the tail.  Use a line to show where the body is coming out of the water.
The flipper is two lines that curve outward and then back to touch at the ends.

WATER
The splash has a top where the water is rounded upward. There are bubbles flying up. The splash also has a darker bottom where the water is rounded downward. The ocean waves are smaller far away and look like dashes. The waves close by are bigger and are like lots of streaks back and forth.

SHADING AND COLOR.
Loch Ness is a very beautiful lake. Make the mountains around it colorful and the distant water light blue. The nearby water is dark. The monster is dark gray, green, or blue.

How to Draw A Gladiator Face and Helmet Worksheet.by MrAdron.

PRINTABLE LESSON NOTES

Start with an oval for the basic head shape. Use two guidelines; one across the center, and one up and down the center to help keep things straight and even.

The helmet covers most of the face. There is a brim, it can be wide or narrow. It is pointed at the center, draw it as a line starting at the center of the forehead going down slightly and out past the ear and then looping back behind the head. Repeat this on both sides. Add a second line next to it to give the impression of thick heaviness.

Draw the center crest as a double line going up and down the top of the helmet. It goes above the helmet and may have feathers on it.

The band of decorations across the front of the helmet has a roaring lion in the middle and laurel leaves on both sides. You can choose other ways of decorating like fight scenes, wild animals or mythical deities.

The face mask is a wide curving line starting at the top of one ear going down to the nose and back up to the top of the other ear. It has two eye holes, they can be bars, circles or slits for the eye holes.

The cheek guards are two rectangles on each side of the face, They can be flared in as a chin guard.

THE FACE
The face is only the eyes and lower parts of the face. Give the eyes a serious look by making the tops a straight line going across. There are wrinkles around the eyes.

The mouth is three lines. The first line is shaped like a stretched-out letter, "M." Above that draw a rounded letter, "M;" the corners of the two touch. Below draw a rounded letter, "W;" the ends almost go to the edge of the letter "M" above.

Draw the wide jaw as straight lines.

Add armor and a weapon.

How to Draw A Skinny Cat Face Worksheet

How to draw a skinny cat face, drawing lesson, and printable worksheet.

This free printable drawing worksheet is perfect for drawing a cartoon cat, so you don't need to worry about getting everything perfect because if something is off a little, it adds to the effect.

How to Draw a Skinny Cat Face Worksheet

Thank You!

This worksheet may be printed by highlighting it and sending it to your printer. If you have any problems, CLICK HERE to visit my how-to print page for suggestions.

THE BASIC OUTLINE
I use a guideline up and down to help keep things even and straight. This face starts as a series of ovals. The first is a large oval for the forehead. Below the forehead are two smaller ovals for the upper jaw; they touch where the nose is. The last oval is a small one for the lower jaw. Use two lines for the cheeks on the side of the face; they point down to the chin like a "V."

ADD DETAILS
The ears are triangles at the top of the head; they are larger than normal cats. The nose is only a line that goes across the space between the two ovals. This should form a triangle.

The eyes are drawn as a line going up from each side of the nose and arching outward for the top of the eyes. The eyes are halfway to the top of the head because he has a big forehead. The bottom of the eye is a curved line going across. Draw the shiny spot in the eye before you get to the iris or pupil. The eye is a circle, but most of it is hidden at the top and bottom by the eyelid, so you only draw the sides of the circle. The pupil is a diamond shape, but the top of the diamond is hidden.

FINAL TOUCHES
The nose has two nostrils on each side; they are like little triangles. There are five freckles and three crooked whiskers on each side of his mouth. There is fur inside his ears and short fur around this face. There is a wrinkle under each eye. Three eyebrow hairs are going up. The bottom edges of his eyes are darker.

How To Draw a Fat Cat Worksheet

Thank you!

Design the body as a dome or half circle with the flat on the bottom. Outline the head as a smaller circle at the top; they overlap a little. Use a guideline up and down the center to keep things even on both sides.

The paws are like ovals at the bottom; the back paw is more oval and slightly higher since it is farther back. The rear legs are ovals tilted outward, and only the knees are visible.

Once you are happy with the outline, then add details. The tail is two lines that reach around to hide the rear paw on one side and rest on top of the front paw. Give him a little chin. The eyes are halfway down the face, The ears are triangles on top of the head. Be careful not to make them too big. The nose is a triangle halfway between the eyes and the chin.  The legs are tilted inward like a "V." Draw them as two lines each. There is a bend at the ankle where the legs go straight down.

Our cat has stripes: three on the forehead, one over each eye, two on the cheeks, two on each shoulder, three on each leg, and four on the tail.

Use shadowing to give him roundness.

How To Draw A Dragon Standing Worksheet.

PROJECT NOTES

Draw lightly at first so you can erase later on.

Like drawing a human figure we start with an articulated stick figure, where we have the joints marked off with little circles. This helps us to get the pose right. Use a guideline down the center so things are even on both sides and not lopsided, erase this line later. He is holding his egg so the hands are together at the center, the palms are up and the thumbs point out.

After we are happy with the position of the pose next draw circles and ovals to fill in the muscles and flesh. Do the wings and armor last.

After you have the drawing the way you like it go over the best lines with a darker pencil or marker and erase the extra lines.

I did this drawing with marker pens so I was only using black and grey. I tried to leve a few areas white and some areas I drew very black that gives interest and contrast. I gave the skin of the dragon texture with a dot technique. The wings were smudged with an almost dried up marker so it has a different texture.

Dragons can be any color.

Have fun.

Printable lesson notes

Harbor seals are easy to draw; they can be a focus in a picture or a part of the composition that gives character to a scene. Just download the worksheet below and print it to get started.

BEGINNINGS:
Start with a simple outline. The head starts out as a circle and the body is shaped like a teardrop that is on its side. Use two lines to draw the body, draw the lines going around the shape of the body.

DETAILS:
The front flipper is like a hand, but no arm; draw it like two letters, "L," one above the other, and a third line going between them. There are five short claws.

FACE:
The face is happy. The eyes are high on the face. The eyes are round at the top and flat at the bottom. (If the bottom is slightly arched he looks like he is smiling.) The nose is two short dashes that almost touch and form a letter "V." The mouth is like a letter "W" but rounder. The face has a few long whiskers, and tall eyebrows going up. He has a little chin it is a short curved line.

Sometimes I draw a snout but adding a curved arched line between the nose and the eyes. It is optional.

COLOR:
Color him grey-brown or black. There are spots on his back, and he is white below.
Give him some friends and a rock to sit on.

How to Draw a Boat on The Beach Worksheet by MrAdron.

Sometimes it takes me hours, but I create these how to draw worksheets, but I do it so that I can give back because I believe that when you have been given a gift, it is so you can be a gift to others, and I hope these worksheets are a means of blessing to you. You are welcome to print as many as you like.

Thank you!

The image above should work for most printers, but use the PDF below if you still have trouble.

CLICK HERE for a PDF file that may print better on some printers (it may require a two-step process, first download the temporary file, next open the file, then print).

Almost every famous artist did a portrait of the boat stuck on the beach- why not you? This is a fun and rewarding project that the young artist can be proud of. There are many different designs and shapes of boats around the world, if yours doesn't turn out like mine, it is OK since somewhere there is a boat just like the one you are drawing.

Draw a line for the foreground sand and another for the horizon before you start on the boat. Start out by drawing lightly, so you can erase.

The challenge for many people is the angles of the boat's sides and how they come together to a point at the front. Think of it as a banana with the back end chopped off. The top lines of the near side and the far side start apart at the rear of the boat; they curve down and back up until they touch at the front. The line of the back goes down at an angle to the sand. The line of the front curves slightly as it goes down and back.

Once you have the basic design, then start to add the details. The walls are thick, so draw a second line next to the tops to show the thickness. There is a seat in the middle; use two parallel lines for its front and back edges, and then a third for the bottom under the front edge. There are ribs going up on the inside; draw these as two parallel lines. Our boat has a floor, draw it as a line going across the inside bottom. The outside wall has boards going across it, don't draw them all the way across- leave a few blank places to give it interest.

Add shadows.

Draw a world around your boat. Shadow in the sand and give the sand texture with lots of dots. Put in some beach grass, add the waves of the sea, and put in some islands or the mountains of the bay far away.

I hope you create a masterpiece!
