I drew this for a class I was teaching as a take-home extra activity.  You can use this worksheet in a home or a classroom; it can be given as a take-home project, a do-on-your-own lesson, or an extra class time activity.

PRINTABLE NOTES

BEGINNING
Start by drawing lightly so you can erase later.

Draw an articulated stick figure to give him the right pose. The stick figure should have joints at the knees and elbows. The figure is seated with one foot forward toward you on a block and one leg sideways.  The head is low and the forward-looking down.

DEVELOP FORM
Add the guitar and adjust the pose if needed. The guitar body is a little like a peanut.
After you have the basic pose worked out then go around the stick figure and draw the shapes of the arms, legs, and body.

CLOTHING
Draw the clothing around the form

FACE
Keep the face simple. Give him a short pointy beard. Draw a line under the lower lip for the shadow. Draw a thin line for the eyes.  The face is turned downward. Keep the hands simple, they are squarish The fingers are bent inward so they look shorter.

Use shading to give him roundness and depth.

Don't get too caught up with details like the strings.

The shoes are like long pointy triangles.

PRINTABLE NOTES.

BEGINNINGS
Start by drawing lightly so you can erase later.

Start with an outline of the hand like you are drawing a mitten.

Use a curved guideline for the knuckles and two for the joints in the fingers (the thumb has only one joint).

Use three lines to divide the fingers.

The thumb is like a crooked rectangle.

Round off the tips of the fingers. Use a half circle for the thumb since it is seen from its side.

The joints of the fingers are a little wider, so curve the lines of the fingers, do the same for the joint on the thumb.

The side of the hand below the small finger is slightly rounded.

The fingernails are like the letter "U," but it is just a curved line on the thumb.

There are several wrinkles on the finger joints and knuckles; they are not straight.

The hand on the far side is a line that copies the lower line of the near side hand.

The wrists are narrower where they connect to the hand but slightly wider where they meet the sleeve.

The sleeve is like an oval, not a straight line.

Use shading technique to give the hands roundness.

Begin by drawing lightly so you can erase it later on. 

Use a ruler or straight edge to draw the straight lines.

Use shapes like rectangles, triangles, and squares to build the basic shape. 

Use a guideline down the center to keep things even.

It is like a cylinder with a roof.

The top is shaped like a triangle, but the bottom of the triangle is curved down like a cylinder. There is a second curve going up for the far side of the roof. The sides are straight.

There are seven posts going up and down on the sides. At first, draw them as a single line; when you get them in the right place, draw over them as two parallel lines, so they have thickness. The four near posts go all the way from top to bottom. The three far posts only go halfway down and are covered by the half wall.

Use two lines to divide the top triangle of the roof into three equal sections.

Draw lines for the side walls. The near side wall in front is straight across, but the ones on the sides tilt downward.

The tops of the post have a "Y" shape. Draw them as double lines but be careful to keep things even.

The side walls have slats going up and down. ake your time to draw them evenly and parallel.

The stone path leading up to the gazebo is curved to give the viewer a lead into the picture. The stones are smaller in the distance and larger up close. Draw them as ovals since the perspective distorts their roundness.

Add bushes in front and a row of bushes in the background. Draw the outline of trees in the distance.

Use dark areas to give interest.  Put shadows inside and on one side.

BEGINNING
Use basic common shapes to work out the basic design.

BODY
The body starts out as a circle in the middle, a longer oval behind the circle and a teardrop shape pointing forward for the head.

WINGS
There are four wings, two on each side. They are like long triangles. The big one is in front of the other small one.

Our drawing only shows one set of wings on the near side, but you can add wings on the other side, just remember the wings on the other side will have fewer details.

Trace around the shapes to give the body smooth lines. Trace around the triangles of the wings to give them roundness; there are some curves on the top of the wing and some wiggly lines on the bottom.

LEGS AND ANTENNA
Use a bent line for each of the three legs. Go around the lines with long oval shapes for the thickness of the legs. The front leg has one long oval, the center leg has two ovals about the same size below the knee joint. The back leg has two ovals, one long one on top and a short more round one at the bottom. There are feet that look like the letter L backward.

The antenna are two bent lines. Go around them and give them thickness.

DETAILS
The eye is another teardrop shape, leave a shiny spot inside.
The stinger is a short triangle at the far back.
The singer is black, and there are four stripes on the back part of the bee.
There are veins in the wings
Use shading to give the bee a look of roundness.
Color the legs, antenna, eye, and stripes black.

Draw a world around your bee. Put her on a flower or some natural place.

How to draw a cat warrior drawing lesson and worksheet. 

This free printable how-to-draw worksheet will help the young artist to draw and design a half-cat half-person fantasy creature.  Many people just put a cat head on a human body but I try to encourage a form that blends humans and a cat more realistic. The cat arms are longer than a person proportionally. The legs look stockier, and the foot is much longer and he stands on the toes. The back is curved more than a person could be.

Start by drawing lightly so you can erase later.

BEGINNING
Start by drawing an articulated stick figure, which is a stick figure that has the joints like wrist, elbows, knees.  Use a guideline so the feet both touch the ground on the same plane. The far foot will look higher than the nearer foot.
The head is just a circle at first.

Take your time to make sure you get the pose right. You might need to try a few drawings first to get the position of the arms and legs the way you want them.

After the pose is right, then go around the stick figure to fill out the body, use curved lines to show muscles. Remember to draw lightly.

Then erase the stick figure and leave the outlined shape.

DETAILS
Keep the face simple. The eyes are just a couple of lines, the nose is a triangle, the cheeks are two circles that meet at the base of the nose the ears are triangles on top of the head.
Do the tale last.
The hands are wearing gloves so they are easy and boxy.

ARMOR
Draw the armor around the body. Remember the cat is very flexible so use a lot of smaller pieces overlapping like scales. Use a ruler to keep the lines of the sword straight.

Use shading to give it a complete look and a roundish look. Pick a few things to make dark like boots or gloves or belts so that it will have some interest.

Finish the story. He could be fighting a dragon, protecting a princess cat or cutting his birthday cake, just make sure he is doing something that makes a story out of the picture.

PRINTABLE NOTES

Draw lightly at first so you can erase later.
The beauty of this project is the gracefully flowing lines so take your time with the lines.

BEGINNING
Use basic common shapes to design your sub.
Use a guideline across the center to help keep things balanced and level. You can erase it later.
The bottom of the submarine goes straight across and curves sharply up at the front and gradually at the back.
The top is higher at the front and slopes gently to the back.
The tail is a half-circle it can be big or little. It is centered on the guideline.

DEVELOPING FORM
Round off the lines and make them smooth and flowing.
The rudder has a second smaller half circle inside the first one. There is a long tall rectangle at the back of it all.

Erase all the extra lines before you start the cool details like portholes and periscope.

DETAILS
Draw double circles a circle around another circle for the portholes. If you have trouble drawing a circle try tracing around something like a button or coin.
Use the shading technique to give the sub roundness.

Don't forget the fish, bubbles, sharks, and mermaids.

This is a printable how-to-draw a fuchsia flower worksheet.

This lesson will help the young artist to draw a beautiful flower. It will push them a little beyond their comfort level. The fuchsia is a flower with a lot of graceful lines.

I draw these as handouts to give my students at the end of my class so they can have a project at home, or sometimes we do one of my worksheets when the student needs a little confidence boost.

Draw lightly at first so you can erase later.
Start with large circles for where the flowers go to organize your picture. Put little ovals for the pods and small circles for the buds.

Divide the flower circles in half for the two parts of the flower.

The leaves are like long curving rectangles. Draw small ones near the buds and large ones near the flower. Put some behind the flower and one or two in front of a flower to hide a small part of it.

The flower is like a bell shape in the bottom part. There are three parts of the pod that curved upward; the one in the middle looks like an upside-down letter "V" The two on the sides are curved lines that end in points. The flower has crinkly edges, and there are petals that lap over others, so draw a curved line to show one or two of the other petals.
There are little hairs that come out of the bottom of the flower; draw them as two lines, each with one in the center that is longer than the others.

Go around the leaves and give them zigzag saw-tooth edges. Little stems go to the flowers, buds, and pods. Use two lines for each stem.

Use shading to give the effect of contrast depth by going dark in the background and leave the flowers white.

Begin by drawing lightly so you can erase later on. 

Use a ruler or straight edge to draw the straight lines.

Use shapes like rectangles, triangles, and squares to build the basic shape. 

Use a guideline down the center to keep things even.

The view is at a slight angle so the front and a short "foreshortened" side are both showing.  

Add arched doors and windows.

Add buildings on the side.

Use a guideline for the ground.

Use a grid for the stones. Star with horizontal lines evenly across the front and sides of the building. Then divide the lines with vertical lines. Draw a line around the arches for the supporting stones and divide the double line into sections to look like arch stones. 

Draw the interior of the tower seen through the arches. The tower is open on the other side so you can see through it and light shines in. Draw bushes and background through the windows.

Add texture by adding jagged mountains in the background and scribbly bushes or trees in the foreground.

Draw lightly at first so you can erase later.
Start with a rectangle shape. Add a guideline down the center to help keep things even. Draw an X from the corners through the center, this will be another guideline.

Draw an oval for the top and the bottom. Use the corners of the rectangle to help keep the oval from being lopsided.
Draw a half circles, one for the top and another for the bottom of the glass. It may help if you find a jar lid to trace around, Do not be afraid to use tools like rulers and tracing around circles every artist uses tools.

Draw four guidelines for the spindles on the sides. Use a circle in the center with an oval above and below each circle to form the shape of the spindles, then go around them to give smooth flowing lines.

Draw the shiny spots on the glass. Go around the half circles and connect them with curving lines.
The sand in the bottom looks like a triangle. The sand in the top is a "U" shape.
Add details like edges to the top and bottom.

Use shading to give the effect of roundness and depth. The far spindles are darker since they are in the shadow.
Take your time to add texture to the sand and long lines for the wood on the top.
Add a background like a tabletop.

PRINTABLE NOTES.

BEGINNINGS
Start by drawing lightly so you can erase it later.
Unless you are copying a picture, you need to come up with some ideas to make the drawing interesting and unique.  I like to use the freeform technique to get ideas. Scribble and draw shapes randomly on a practice sheet of paper. I even turn it right side or upside down to make sure it is random. This should only take a minute or two.

Next look at the mess you made and pick out shapes and lines that might make an interesting picture. Go over those lines with a darker pencil. This should give you some ideas. Sometimes you have to do this two or three times before you get enough ideas. You may need to go to a new piece of paper and use the ideas to make the actual drawing.

The neat thing is that you do not need to worry about drawing a straight line since it is old and crumbly the crooked line could be an old tower just about to fall.

Draw a line straight across the bottom for where it is on the ground, remember things nearer are lower on the ground and the things behind are a little higher.

ADD DESIGN FEATURES.
Use arches for windows and doors.  Have the windows show what is on the other side like part of a far wall. Have the doors show part of a wall inside. Put some things behind other things.

TEXTURE
Use short wiggly lines for the stones that make up the wall. There will be more of them and darker ones in the walls closest to you and fewer lighter lines for the walls behind.
Use small "V" shapes for ivy plants creeping up the wall

Use shading technique to make things stand out. Use light and dark contrast to help things stand apart.

FINISHING TOUCHES.
Put bushes and dead trees around the scene.
Draw a background with some low hills or forest.
