START
Even though we are drawing an angel with wings, we will save the wings until we have worked out the body's position. Use an articulated stick figure with elbows, ankles, wrist, knees, and shoulders to pose the body.  For interest, have the near arm and leg pass over the far one.  Place the trumpet in this first step, so it is positioned well.

BODY
After the stick figure is posed, use ovals and loops to flesh out the body with the curves and contours of muscle. Add the wing nearest you as a triangle that is curved outward at the top point.

DETAILS
The face and hands are hard for some. The eyes are halfway down since the angel is blowing a trumpet to draw her eye closed; it is just a line with a slight downward curve. The mouth is like a sideways "W" with the trumpet in the middle. Draw a curve for the puffed-out cheek.

The hands are easy if you think of them as mittens. The thumb on the near hand is inside toward the face, and it is behind the trumpet. The hand holding the trumpet is like a square with the thumb coming off the side. The far hand is flat, and the thumb is down.

The feet can be hidden inside the long robe if they are too hard to draw. They have a round circle at one end attached to a triangle bent slightly away from the body.

The wings are like triangles with feathers on them. To help space the feathers evenly, mark off the spacing before you draw them in.

FINISHING TOUCHES
Draw the robe as flowing lines that gracefully go around the body.  Add the far wing by drawing only a few feathers showing behind the front wing and the wing's top, giving the far wing less detail than the near one. Draw the headband on the angle. The hair can be flowing waves. If you shadow the far wing, the hair will look brighter.

BEGINNINGS
Keep it simple at first and draw a light outline of the project you want to draw. The house is seen from a corner angle; this makes it look more interesting than just the front. The horizontal lines of the roof, windows door, and bottom of the house tilt a little toward each other slightly as if they continued away to a place where they touched.

DEVELOPMENT
Use guidelines to outline the windows and the door so they are all even. Lightly draw a checker grid for the shingles on the roof so that when you draw the round shingles, they go in straight rows. Roughly sketch in the door, the walkway, and the chimney.

FINISHING TOUCHES
Draw shutters next to the windows and decorate them with gumdrops. Outline the house with gumdrops. Make the path out of peppermint suckers, and then draw candy canes beside the walkway. Draw lollipops for a garden and gummy bells for bushes.

Last, add a background so the house will have a world of its own.

BEGINNINGS
Start by drawing a light rough sketch to get the project centered on the page. Sketch a large circle for the flower at first and a short cylinder for the pot. The stem is just a double line that curves one way then the other.

DETAILS
Draw the flower in two steps the first is the larger petals. The first two start as two curving lines like large parenthesis on the outside edge, then connect with a line between them shaped like the letter U at the top and an upward curving lines below. Behind the first two petals are three petals shaped like rounded diamonds, their points form a triangle.

The flower has a center made of three leaves, two that curve out and back in above and one curves down and back up below. Start with three inward curving lines that almost make a circle. Connect the lines with the lines that curve inward and back out. There is a little upward edge on the bottom petal that looks like the letter U.

FINISHING TOUCHES
Add large leaves that are drawn with two curving lines that come to a point. Shade the flower pot to give contrast.  Shade the background to make the flower stand out.

 PROJECT NOTES.

BEGINNINGS
Start with a circle for the head and an oval for the body, and then use a stick figure technique to place the arms and the feet in position. After the posing looks right use ovals to give the arms and legs thickness.

FACE
Use two guidelines, one going up and down the center and one across the center to help keep things even. The muzzle is like a smaller circle on the lower part of the face it should be centered on the guideline. The eyes are a little below the guideline going across. The nose is like a diamond sideways with two dark dashes for the nostrils. The ears are on the top of the head and are slightly like a half-circle. The eyes are black and have a little white rim around them. The top of the head has a slight peak or point to it.

DETAILS
The paws are covered with fur and you do not need to do more than the basic shape. The feet have five claws, below each claw is a round pad.

SHADING
Start shading with gray not black. After you have all the areas done in grey then use black for the shadows and the darker areas.

Do some concept drawings first on a separate piece of paper. Start with the basic shape of a car or a rectangle. Draw lightly so you can erase later.

Roughly sketch in some of the shapes of an airplane, like the rudder stabilizer, and cockpit.

You can experiment with random shapes; after you sketch a few shapes over the design ask yourself what that looks like and work it in. An oval on the side could be a rotor or a jet engine.

After you have gotten your ideas worked out then you can put them together for your final project.

Use shadows to give it roundness, draw a background and create a world or city for it.

How To Draw A Flying Saucer Worksheet.

START
To make the saucer shape look even use a short guideline up and down for the center and a longer guideline across for the width.

BASIC SHAPE
Starting at the guidelines draw an arch shape from the outside edge to the center top, as you go switch back and forth from one side to the other and switching from top to bottom. Be sure to make the distance from the middle to each end the same on both sides.

DETAILS
Draw the dome at the top, use the guideline to keep it even.
The landing gear below is in line with the edge of the dome and goes half way to the edge of the saucer.
Draw windows or lights on the guideline across the space ship.
Draw a window in the dome.
Draw a line and a dot for an antenna.

FINISHING TOUCHES
Draw a rectangle door underneath the saucer and a ramp going from the door to the ground. The ramp should be two lines that start at the door and go outward and are wider at the bottom, it should be slightly longer than the landing gear and look slightly lower in the picture.

Draw some craters on the ground and some rocky jagged mountains in the background. Use shadows to make the spaceship look round.

The elf youth has a slightly larger forehead and smaller chin.

BEGINNINGS
Start with a circle, then below the circle, draw a triangle for the jaw and chin. Use guidelines to keep things even; one guideline will go down the face a little over from the center since the face is slightly turned away. Use a guideline for the eyes a little lower than halfway down the face. The nose is about halfway from the eyes to the chin.

DETAILS
The eyes are almond-shaped and a little pointed up on the outside.

The nose is like a ball with a little ball next to it. Use a line to connect the nose to the eyebrow on one side.

The mouth is just three lines. The upper lip is stretched into a smile and is only a straight line across the face close to the nose. The lower lip is two curved lines.

The ears are triangles that point up and outward.

The neck on one side is a straight line that is in line with the nose going down. The neck on the other side starts at the ear and goes down until it curves into the shoulder.

FINISHING TOUCHES.
After you have a nice face, draw the shirt and the hat. Add shadows to give the features roundness. The hair and eyebrows are last.

How To Draw A Clenched Fist by MrAdron.

OVERVIEW
The fist is not hard to draw, but there are just a few features you must keep in mind. The shape is not really round and not really square but a combination of both. The thumb makes it look off-balance since it is to the side of the center.

BEGINNINGS
Start with a large circle for the basic fist shape. Below the circle draw two lines for the wrist and forearm. One line is directly below the pinkie finger, the other is about a third of the way from the outside on the thumb side.

The edge of the palm beside the pinkie is not straight but is folded outward and looks like a little triangle. The base of the palm curves in a little to join the wrist and forearm.

FINGERS
Draw a curving guideline for the top knuckles of the fingers. Halfway between the knuckles and wrist draw another guideline for the fingertips. Divide the space into the four fingers by drawing five vertical lines. Round off the top and bottom of the fingers. The fingernails are hardly visible.

THUMB
The thumb can cover the first or first and second fingers. The outside edge of the thumb is three straight lines. The inside shape is three curved lines.

WRIST & ARM
The arm gets wider the further away from the hand. There are tendons in the wrist that look like long ridges use shadow technique to draw these it. It could be two or three lines.

FINISHING TOUCHES
There are wrinkles in the palm. There are three wrinkles across the wrist. There are wrinkles across the knuckles.

SHADING
Use the shading technique to give the fist roundness. The darkest area is inside of the palm by the fingertips.

Our characters are shaped like gourds or rocks or water bubbles, with eyes.

Draw two circles a large one and a smaller one above it. Outline the circles to make a gourd shape. Add feet like blobs or peanut shapes if you like, this gives the opportunity to practice basic body pose.

EYES
Our gourd people are all about eyes. Draw different eyes to express different emotions and feelings. Example...

     Surprise: Two circles side by side with black dots in the center. Eyebrows are high.
     Disgust:  The top of the eye is a low curve and a half dot under each. Eyebrows are low.
     Worry Eyes curved at the top, Dots to the side. Eyebrows to the side slightly.
     Curiosity: The eyes are wide open the dots to the side, eyebrows are high.
     Anger: Eyes tilt down leaning toward the middle, with a half dot under the eyelid.
     Embarrassment: Dot in the middle and outline at the sides.

BODY LANGUAGE
Try different gourd shapes to express emotion.

Start with a basic design. It is good to work out ideas on something that you can throw away when you are finished.

Our design is the classic rocket design with a teardrop shape.  Use a guideline down the center to help keep things even on both sides. Use guidelines to keep the front and rear of the fins even. You will erase these guidelines later.

The scout ship has four wings or fins, with a rocket and motor on each one. Use the guidelines to keep them even. The fins taper down and back. The rockets are long cylinders with a point at one end and a ball shape where the rocket fire comes out. Trace coins or buttons to get the circles right. You might want to draw one and then trace it each time for all the rest.

Add details. If you want to have windows or doors, keep them small, making the spaceship look big. Add a few flames at the bottom of the rockets. Have laser guns poking out or a landing dock.

Use shadow to make it look round.
